Paint It WhitePosted: December 14, 2011
Resident artist, Adam McBride, has a poster currently exhibited in the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN. The exhibition (Graphic Design: Now in Production) is part of the Green Patriot Poster Project and will be touring the United States this year. Adam’s poster sits alongside the likes of Shepard Fairey, Nancy Skolos, James Victore, Felix Sockwell, Geoff Mcfetridge, and other design celebs. The exhibition was curated by Ellen Lupton and Andrew Bleuvelt.
The poster (Paint it White) is part of an awareness campaign that aims to help educate property owners about the benefits of lighter surfaces within urban areas. By adding more green space (parks, trees, gardens, etc.) and building with lighter colored materials, we can offset what’s known as the urban heat island. On a global scale, this could save a fortune in electricity bills and help offset carbon emissions.
